Strong Enough

This one is set in S7. House tells Cuddy he wants to go back on Ketamine.

It was House’s idea to go for a walk.

Cuddy never suggested such things: What if they got caught up in the moment, walked too far? What if his leg began hurting him? Would he ever admit that he needed to take a break, to sit down, maybe even needed to call a cab?

But ( Read more... )

"Go Ketamine", indeed. Such a hot scene xD

This time it's going to last, right? RIGHT?! D:
Because he's so happy and just to think if it doesn't work... I'M NOT READY FOR THAT D:

Oh, dear, why do I fear that this is not Ketamine? Or that it is, but that he is dosing himself on an ongoing basis?

But it is interesting,no, how we so often allow what we cannot do (or, what we do badly) to define us rather than what we do well (because, of course, ANYONE can do what we do well). In House's case, this is a lot more understandable than in general, but it's still sad (and frustrating for Cuddy) that he feels that he must be diminished in her eyes.

And the fact that he is waking her up to go running - it's so evocative, and you know how excited and happy he must be for it to be possible to run.

You truly are the master of detail - you didn't have to mention that he knocked a lamp over when he threw his cane towards the closet, but it made it so much more vivid...and the fact that you noted that it fell well short of its objective also made it funny.

...Ugh, I fear it is an experimental drug :-( And that he is going to be worse off at the end. And that the reason that he didn't want her to go with him is that he didn't want her to know what he was dosing himself with. I am TRULY nervous: if only he could see himself as others see him, perhaps he would have a better sense of his self-worth (hint hint ;-))

It's great that the ketamine worked again and that House is "happier" now. Now, we can only hope that this will at least stick longer than before for both him and Cuddy's sake. :)

Your fic plots are always the juiciest and most original. But this one leaves the reader with a feeling of dread, like one of House's self-fulfilling prophecies.

I know Cuddy will be there when the inevitable 'fall' happens, I just hope House will let her in.
