SYNECDOCHE!

Since when do they teach metonymy and synecdoche and the precise characteristics of each and definition and how to identify/differentiate them in my grade? Ryan, you're in the IB program. Have you learned them yet?

English? Haha we were just learning these terms today actually. We have to make a list with examples for all provincially examable lit terms. A and B for Friday. That is about 2 pages worth. But I do not know how much IB cares, because honestly IB Exams > Provincials. I have new plans, no more England, I am thinking NYU. Any thoughts?

I was considering NYU today too, fancy that. Honours Exams > Provincials. :D Our teacher: "Well, you don't have to really know these terms until the Grade 12 Provincial, but. Oh. Wait. That's a university English Exam, not Grade 12 ( ... )

We can go to NYU together!!! Would that not be awesome. Then, I could take you to the "Tony's Tomato Pies" pizza place I promised I would take you to, and then you could take me to that place in T-dot.

Well, I guess it would depend on what grade that is. I started learning them in AP english in grade 10 here in Florida. So...when I was 15?

Well, I guess it really depends on how you're asking the question. I had it for several different subjects and all of the teaching methods were different for the different teachers obviously. It was more reading and critical thinking than average or honors classes, and more project type things, but I live off of that stuff so it was fine with me. The tests pretty much blew, since I despise essay questions, but my teachers didn't leave me unprepared for them or anything. I carried most of them over into Uni credits. I don't really know if that's what you wanted to know or not. *shrug*
