Masterpost Alex left the box of his recovered belongings in the car when he got to the bar.
He made his way inside and went to sit, looking for Jack. Jack would be working tonight, right? Alex really had no idea, but he kind of wanted Jack to be working. He didn't know why.
The younger boy was nowhere to be seen, though, and Alex sighed and buried his face in his arms. He really doubted the night could get any worse. Seeing the state Matt was in after the breakup had completely drained him, and it was even more terrible knowing that he himself had been the one to cause it. To cause all the pain. Matt had beheaded his Mickey doll, for crying out loud.
"Hey," a voice said then, as a hand came to rest on Alex's shoulder.
He jumped at the hand, snapping his head up to see who it was.
It was Jack.
"Um, hi," Alex answered, confused as to why Jack wasn't in uniform.
"I'm off tonight," the younger boy offered as an explanation, obviously able to see the confusion written all over Alex's face.
"Oh."
"I can get you something to drink though. I don't know where Mark is..."
With that, Jack stepped behind the bar and poured Alex a glass of vodka, then came to sit next to him.
Alex drank the contents of the glass at once, then looked over at Jack.
"Why are you so nice to me out of nowhere?"
Jack shrugged. "I didn't want you to wreck and die. That's really all there is to it."
"Yeah, but... you wanted me to call you... so you'd know I was okay."
"So I would know you didn't die in your sleep."
"Can I have more to drink?"
"Are you gonna get pass out drunk again?"
Alex contemplated this for a minute. Was he going to get pass out drunk again? He wanted to, that was for sure. But he figured it probably wouldn't be a good thing.
So he shook his head.
"Then you can have more to drink."
Jack went behind the bar again and got the bottle and just brought that back to where he'd been sitting.
The time went by silently as Alex just kept drinking and Jack said nothing. The purple-haired boy was starting to feel a little spacey, like he might fall unconscious if he wasn't careful. His limbs felt light, and his head was... it was filled with air, the room spinning when he turned to look at Jack a little too fast. He opened his mouth to speak and found his tongue was suddenly made of lead, the words he wanted to say stuck there right at his lips. It made him giggle.
Jack raised an eyebrow at Alex's sudden giggle fit. It made him laugh, too, observing the giggle fit. He obviously still found Alex to be cute, after all.
"Do I need to get you home again?" Jack said once Alex had finally calmed down.
"Yeah, yeah, I was... I was gonna ask you... that. I tried. But..." Alex bit back a huge grin, trying not to lose it to giggles again.
"But?"
"I started... I started /laughing/!" And with that, the giggles returned.
Jack smiled a little to himself and got up off his stool, wrapping his fingers around Alex's upper arm.
"Come on. I'll take you home again."
Alex nodded, still laughing, and climbed clumsily down from his stool. Jack led him out to Alex's car, plucking the keys from the older boy's pocket before helping him into the backseat.
"Jacky? Jack, this is... this is all my stuff... my stuff. My stuff from /Matt/." Alex yanked on Jack's sleeve and pointed at the box, no longer laughing but instead sticking out his lower lip in a ridiculous pout.
Jack nodded, not paying attention really because he was driving. "What about it?"
"He k-killed his Mickey, Jack! He killed his Mickey!"
"Alex, I have no idea what that means. Let me drive."
Alex fumbled with his seatbelt and finally got it undone so he could lean forward and rest his chin on Jack's shoulder. "He's /sad/... I made... I made Matt sad."
"I know you did. He made you sad too, remember?"
Alex nodded slowly. "I 'member."
Neither of them said anything else until they pulled up at Alex's house.
"Come on, Alex. Let's get you inside." Jack got out of the car and went around to the back to help Alex, but the older boy had already managed to tumble out and onto the driveway. He laid there on his back looking up at Jack pitifully.
"Alex, stand."
"Carry me!"
"No, Alex, stand!"
"/Carry/ me!"
Jack chewed on his lip for a moment, contemplating whether or not he should carry Alex inside. He wondered how he'd gotten here, why he was already quickly becoming Alex's... caretaker, he guessed. Or something like it. Was it just because he was handy? Because he was the one who controlled Alex's alcohol consumption (sort of)?
He sighed and bent down to pick Alex up.
Alex's legs immediately wrapped around the younger boy's waist, and he giggled softly. Jack smiled in spite of himself as he walked up the drive and used the key to unlock the door.
He remembered the way to Alex's bedroom and headed there. When he opened the door to the room, he only meant to lay Alex down, maybe get his shoes off, and then be on his way. That's all he meant to do.
But when he laid Alex down, it became obvious the older boy had other plans for him by the way he didn't release his legs from Jack's waist or his arms from Jack's neck and instead pressed their lips together in an open-mouthed kiss.
Jack cried out and jerked away, surprised. "Alex! What the hell?"
The older boy's eyes were wide with alcohol and lust as he just stared back. "I jus'... I am /lonely/... and I jus' wanna... C'n we make out or somethin'...?"
"No! We cannot make out, Alex! You're drunk and we don't even /know/ each other and just... no!" Jack tried to get up, but Alex's legs and arms still had their hold.
"Please, Jack, please... I'm jus' sad... make me feel happy! I jus' wanna feel happy!"
Jack's breath caught a little in his throat at that. It made him feel guilty. Like if he denied this impromptu makeout session, he'd be personally responsible for any sadness Alex would then experience.
"I... Alex, we can't. It's not /right/."
"Nobody will know! Jack..."
Without even giving the younger boy a chance to speak, Alex was melding their lips back together. His tongue poked at Jack's lips and on instinct, he parted them and let Alex in.
His mind left him then and his body took over, loving the feeling of being close like this to someone for the first time in ages. Their tongues fought with each other for dominance, although Alex seemed to have the upper hand due to his intoxicated slight aggression. Alex was whimpering softly in pleasure, hands roving all over Jack's back in a way that made Jack shiver deliciously.
Jack's teeth nipped a little at Alex's lower lip, tugging on it in just the right way that made Alex let out a low moan and rut his hips up. He was growing hard in his jeans, and honestly, Jack was too, but he didn't want to admit it, not just yet.
"Jack..."
"Nnn..." Jack whined in the back of his throat. He knew he shouldn't be doing this, but it felt so fucking good. He didn't want it to stop.
But it had to.
He broke the kiss and managed to pry himself away from Alex.
"I have to go."
"What? Why? Don't leave..."
"Alex. I have to go."
"I'll be sad!"
"Just go to sleep. You'll be fine."
Before Alex could protest further, Jack was gone.
