A/N: This is hella short. I'm sorry. I needed to write something.
Masterpost "Jack... hey..."
Jack felt a voice break through his hazy barrier of sleep. He groaned as he tried to adjust himself. He felt his hands land on something warm. He moved his hands more, feeling the rise of ribs and then the subtle jutting of hips. He heard an amused chuckle and content sigh.
Jack dared to open his eyes ever so slowly. He looked past the gorgeous boy opposite him and at his alarm clock.
"Fuck... Alex, it's only... four in the morning." Jack grumbled, burying his face in the pillow.
"I know..." Alex said as he sat up and crossed his legs, leaning over Jack to trace his fingers over his back softly. Jack shivered at the feeling of his fingers. "We're going somewhere though." Alex said coyly.
"Where? Narnia?" Jack asked, still not quite in a state to think rationally.
"Kind of." Alex said, grinning and moving his lips over to the back of Jack's neck, brushing them over him ever so softly. Jack sucked in a short breath.
"Tell me..." Jack whined, his words muffled by the pillow.
"Get up and get dressed and I'll show you." Alex said, his tone suddenly turning into more of a plea. It was almost as if he was saying "Please. I have to."
Jack groaned once again. He had no idea what the older boy's plan was, but it sounded important.
"Alright, alright..." Jack said, rolling over and staring at the ceiling before he actually decided to get out of bed. He felt stiff and his eyelids felt like lead. He shuffled his way to the bathroom, splashing cold water on his face and looking into the mirror. He looked tired, of course, but something about how he looked today was different. He didn't seem so run down. He looked... livelier. And it was only four in the morning.
He stripped down to his boxers, throwing the dirty clothes in a pile. He rifled through his drawers and pulled out a Blink-182 shirt and a pair of his favorite jeans. He then threw on his red hoodie and beat up Nikes. He had no idea where he was going, but he might as well look good for it. He realized Alex wasn't even in the room anymore and bit his lip.
"Hey, Lex, do you need-" He stopped as he trotted down the stairs and saw Alex sitting on the floor of his living room, wearing his jeans, a Green Day shirt, a pair of his shoes and a hoodie he'd been wearing last night.
"I see you've managed to clothe yourself then." Jack said, amused. Alex looked down at the ground, feeling his cheeks redden.
"I figured you wouldn't mind if I borrowed some clothes." He said, wringing his hands. Jack frowned.
"You look guilty." Jack said, sitting next to him and putting his arm around his shoulders, squeezing him to his side. Alex just looked at him, forcing a smile. Jack didn't ask.
"You ready?" Alex finally asked, standing up. He picked up a duffel bag full of things. Jack didn't know what to say.
"What's in there?" Jack asked. Alex hoisted it up on his shoulder and shrugged.
"Things..." He said vaguely. Jack felt something weird about this. But he still didn't question it. He just simply walked to Alex's side and took his hand, squeezing it once as if to say "I don't know what the fuck is going on, but I'm with you."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It felt odd having Alex drive his dad's old work car at five in the morning on a Saturday morning to a location unknown. Jack couldn't help but feel apprehensive. But he also felt excited. Never in his life had he gone on an "adventure" of sorts. He'd never had the friends to do it with.
He smiled out the window, watching the sun begin to rise over the horizon. It was something he'd always wanted to see, but had never actually taken the time to do. He looked over at Alex, who had been smiling the whole trip, but this time, he'd left his guard down. His hands gripped the steering wheel, making his knuckles white. His eyes conveyed pure terror and unknowing. He looked so lost and scared and it hit Jack right where it hurt.
"Alex. Do we need to pull over?" Jack asked, feeling his breath hitch. Alex looked at him quickly, snapping out of his state of mind. He looked like a deer in the headlights. He drifted into the opposite lane, nearly hitting a truck going the opposite way.
"Alex!" Jack yelled quickly, taking the steering wheel and carefully maneuvering the car to the side of road. By the time the car had stopped, Alex was in hysterics, crying and gripping the wheel for dear life.
"Lex... tell me what's going." Jack ordered gently, prying the boy's hands off the steering wheel and taking them in his hands.
"I'm so sorry... I should have... this is stupid..." Alex said, blubbering and not making sense. Jack wasn't sure what to think. He reached back and took the duffel bag from the back seat and sat it on his lap. He unzipped it, not daring to look at Alex. Inside was cans of miscellaneous things and packs of saltines and cookies. Alex's wallet sat beneath it all. Various clothing items were also shoved inside.
"Alex... where are we going?" Jack finally asked. The car was silent. Cars zoomed past, making the vehicle rock ever so slightly.
"Anywhere." Alex said finally.
