You did nothing wrong. You did NOTHING wrong. You are not your mother's keeper, and you are not your mother's dog's keeper. You are not responsible for your mother's terrible behavior. There's no magic thing you could have done, or not done, to "stop" your mother from attacking you. Your mother is 100 percent responsible for her own behavior. You do not deserve to be treated the way she treated you. You do not have to stop feeling things and expressing your feelings to make *her* feel better.

You are smart, and resourceful, and talented, and accomplished, and a hard worker, and pretty, and kind, and I am glad we are friends.
