We won't be going through CF.. because I'm leaving from Galesburg, IL and have to pick up a friend "on the way" in Mason City. I'm pretty sure they have us cutting west in Cedar Rapids.
As for inventory.. ugh! I hate Walmart's inventory guidlines. But you and I have already talked about all that crap!
hmm, the most direct, and quickest way from Galesburg to Mason City (and onto Minnesota, I'm guessing Minneapolis?) runs right through Cedar Falls. I-74 -> I-80 -> I-380 -> highway 27 (which is actually US 218 and then US 18, aka the "avenue of the saints"), which takes you right to Mason City. (actually, you might want to take the south loop around the quad cities via I-280 due to bridge work on I-80, but still)
And that route (I-380 and highway 27) go through Cedar Falls.
mapquest puts that route at 410 miles and an estimate of 6:28. (freeway the whole way)
Cutting west from Cedar Rapids would be taking US 30, and that route figures in at 444 miles / 7:16, with an annoying stretch of 2 lane non-freeway on US 30 (and every time I take that route, I get stuck behind some yokel going 50 mph or less)
Alternatively, you could take I-80 all the way over to I-35 in Des Moines and up, but that route is 454 miles / 7:00
Thanks Mr. Map! =P And the I-80 bridge is open on both sides now, as of a week or so ago. I know this because we visit the boyfriend's sister in Le Claire all the time.
But none the less, I have GPS which is programmed to take the quickest route. We'll see where she directs us. Haha!
ps. Do you guys still inventory Walmarts? Because we have WIS area tickets all over our store this year... Lame!
