Dear History Channel,

"The History of Lord of the Rings" is an excellent program. I enjoyed that you took the time to discuss the mythology Tolkien drew upon as well as the modern historical context that influenced him and the book's reception. It's better than when they are on a Hitler kick... there is only so much WWII stuff one can take...

Hmmm... the one that we get in Germany doesn't seem to do that. There are WWII days, sure, but not like weeks of it.

Though they do go ON AND ON AND ON about the Berlin Wall. There aren't any commercials between shows on channels like the History Channel, so they put these little fillers between them. It's actually nice, except that it's basically the same 15 minute snippet over and over again and it's either about the wall or Aliens building the pyramids.

Did you get the one about the nazis escaping the end of WW2 through a stargate? Thats an ancient aliens one :P

Just in case you ever wanted to know:
They appear to have moved all their actual History related stuff over to "H2" (Formerly History International).
