That's ridiculous right on the face of it. As if anybody can afford to play those sorts of games, or as if Abney Park has any reason to do so. I've definitely got your back on this, and now I want to buy tickets for friends just to spite the twit who made this up. (Well, and to turn them onto the band. I want to get to the show in order to snag the new album, as I really need new greenhouse music right now.)

i've been reading here more, and commenting more. and i figured i might as well make a post of some substance, rather than my usual silly nonsense ;)

This is demonstrably false to anyone who knows the club business. If a band cut and ran on a scheduled event no club would ever schedule them again. Obviously the club told the band the event was off.

This is true for any business! If I started canceling jobs because a higher bidder wanted it "now" I'd lose virtually all of my business because they would be afraid of being preempted by a higher bidder.

you guys should make the show, they're a LOT of fun and really just some of the best people ever.

dr. steel is a whole 'nuther bag o' worms! he's more difficult to book. it might be awhile before a venue in dallas gets him.
