tomorrow afternoon my team at work is going to Edgefield to play golf and drink (actually it's probably more of drinking with a bit of golf). it has been suggested that this would be a fine occasion for me to wear my kilt. i agree.
i have yet to decide if this is going to effect the fact that i've been commuting by bicycle for the last couple of -

i'm one of those guys who was considered really geeky and generally undesirable in high-school. i did not have very many friends.
now, i have lots of interesting friends. many of them attractive women.
yeah, it's a long game, and i think i'm winning ;-) -
family resemblance
my daughters have been staying with Bex and i for the last four days. and honestly, it has gone better than i could have hoped. i'm absolutely delighted.
yesterday, my sister Vanessa came over for the evening as well. it was remarked how there is in fact a family resemblance. so, pictures had to be taken. familySteampunk NYE
this year, for the third time in six years, Bex and i went to a steampunk NYE event.
i've posted a few pictures on flickrit was a fabulous time, but what's on my mind right at the moment is not only how it's become a bit of a tradition for us (2008, 2010, 2012), but how that first one has become such an important event in my mind ( Read more... )waiting to exhale
the last week has been rather stressful. this past Wednesday was Bex's immigration interview at the US consulate in New Zealand. based on what information we could gather, including what our friends Steve and Jade had told us, we expected this to mostly be a formality. and then within a couple of days Bex would have her visa packet ( Read more... )well, that happened
last night ended up being, uhmm, notable... celebrating the repeal of Prohibition, and general carousing.
tomorrow promises to be rather epic as well given that it's the company Xmas party.
so I was planning on taking it easy... but one pint in the breakroom turned into many, and then there were the shots of 151 rum
no rest for the wicked ;-)

there is a lovely hookah in one of our conference rooms here at work. this is a relatively new addition.
