Quite things to do with kids.

My husband has just gotten a new job, its nights again but starting later and basically means he will be asleep from 9 am to 5 pm ish. I have 2 children 3 and 4. In the mornings they are at playschool and nursery, they come home have lunch, we go for a walk or to the park that sort of thing. crayola makes these color wonder markers+paper...the markers only write on the special paper so there is no mess...maybe a set of those to keep em quiet? or if they are into a certain cartoon, maybe a dvd? there are usually like 4 episodes on one dvd, so that gives you up to 2 hours if you need to.

I second the Crayola Color Wonders (best invention ever!)

Also things like puzzles are great.

My son actually helps with house work (sorta) He's two and I give him a "VERY important task" (or so he thinks ;) ) such as putting all his books neatly on the shelf, sweeping the floor, wiping down the coffee and end tables etc. He may not do the greatest job but it makes him feel important and keeps him occupied so I can get other important work done.
