Random Question: Why is it bad for pregnant women to drink caffeine?
Does it kill the baby or cause terrible deformity and retardation?

Thanks!

Caffeine apparently causes low birth weights & some doctors believe is a contributing factor in SIDS.

It's not really a caffeine issue, it's really just coffee and energy drinks, things like that.
Think about it this way, whatever you feed yourself, you feed your baby. Would you give a newborn a bottle of coffee or Red Bull? That's the way I thought when I was pregnant. I didn't eat anything I thought would be bad for my baby.

I drank coffee throughout my pregnancy, never more than 2 cups and not everyday. My son is perfect, happy, and healthy!
Oh I ate sushie and lunch meat too!
