And so approaches the winter break.

Independant reading suggestions anyone?

(NOTE: Doesn't have to be anything earthshattering or profound; Just a good book to pass the time.)

If i pick your suggestion, I'll make you cookies.

if you happen to like science fiction: neuromancer (william gibson) or the golden globe (john varley).
i plan on finishing the watchmen, the princess bride, and human osteology: a laboratory and field manual.

I liked 1984 and A Wrinkle in Time. Although, I read A Wrinkle in Time back in like 6th grade.

And the Harry Potter books do kick some ass.

the hitchhikers guide trilogy by douglas adams or the history of the world in 10 1/2 chapters by julian barnes are both thoroughly entertaining.

but if youre leaning towards a how-to book, i'd go with Psychic Energy by joseph j. weed so you can learn how to send/recieve telepathic messages, become clairvoyant and recieve premonitions, influence others to help you, and find lost articles/riches.

all of the above are on my shelf if you're interested. AND I WANT COOKIES.

My winter break plans are very similar to yours.

I have Of Love and Other Demons & The Unbearable Lightness of Being coming my way via that book swappin' website I mentioned. (Alicia <3 Internet 4 eva~~)

If you do decide to read The Hitchhiker's Guide as mentioned above, I have a very convenient hardcover version which contains all six books. Also, if you want to borrow You Shall Know Our Velocity!, I am at your service.

I doubt there's much I could recommend that you don't have at least a passing familiarity with, but I'll just sing the praises of Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead which is a really quick 125pg read (and a play, at that), and really, truly, incredibly funny.
