Born into a wealthy, influential Yakuza family, the youngest son. Growing up, he was mainly taught to keep out of trouble. After all, with his older brother to be the heir, what was there to worry about other than not becoming a bargaining chip?
Growing up, he kept to that. He got the best grades in school (without having to resort to 'alternative tutoring'.) As is standard for such families, he and his siblings were taught how to defend themselves from an early age. Starting with hand-to-hand, moving to swords (his father being a samurai enthusiast) and eventually to firearms in their early teens. (Being a little... 'vertically challenged' and coming across like a 'geek' [Read: Smart] meant he got to put this into practice fairly early on in life, developing a natural flair for fighting that his brother will never have.)
You wouldn't guess all this talking to him, mind. He comes across like an abrasive street thug and he loves it.
As the three children grew up, it became more and more evident that the eldest was unfit to take over the family business. Unlike the younger two, who were diligent workers with a keen business sense, he was perfectly content to overspend, get himself into trouble and throw around the family name to get himself out of a tight spot.
This simply wouldn't do.
As the other son, the family business was handed over to Masaru when he was 21
