6th Annual Hawaii Book and Music Festival

Saturday was a big day for me and my BookCrossing friends here.  We were able to participate in the 6th Annual Hawaii Book and Music Festival and set up an OBCZ (Official BookCrossing Zone) for the morning.  By the end of the day we had released 400 books.

Thank you. Silly fun with friends, but BookCrossing has changed my life in so many positive ways!

Loved the chance to revisit with you through your Flickr photos. Wish I'd been at that festival - sounds as if it went really well.

We are hoping to be invited back next year. It is as close as most of us will get to attending a convention, so it was important that we have fun. Our next mission is to meet a few new Bookcrossers!

I would have loved to hear your take on the event. I wonder how it compared to the Virginia festival.

I checked the link to the website for your festival and thought "WOW!". What a huge scale c.f. the Virginia one which was down a length of an street and on a much smaller scale. It looks as thuogh the general design was similar though with music and authors having book signing. While I enjoyed seeing authors in their own individual tents or under canopies often threatened for unscheduled take-off by a testing wind I found it rather difficult to look closely a then one felt pressure to purchase. No matter how attractive some of the books were there was the air-travel weight restriction that kept me apologizing and praising at the same time. Very interesting though to see real life authors up close and personal. Comparing the two festivals is like trying to compare the TOC three hour luncheon with 92 bookcrossers and a three day convention. Both delightful in their own way but not readily comparable ( ... )
