Hilton IS an art project. I have never known anyone else who embodies so much of the best that life has to offer. He is infinitely kind, warm, loving, friendly, goofy, creative, loony, crazy, genuine (even when he's "messing" with you!), charming, welcoming, vibrant, and...transcendant!!!! I can't think of anyone who deserves Nirvana more than him! (Is Buddhism one of the things he's ordained in...?) He'd make a great (if mischievious) bodhisattva!

By the way, do you still have the squirrel tie?

Hugs and smooches! Julie Pierce

From Mike Harges-I met Hilton 51 years ago in freshman year at C.W.Post. He is my brother from another mother. We have buried spouses, parents together, I helped him get through the loss of his first born and so much more. Through it all his humor and ability to see the good in every thing around him has shone through.
He has taught me to see the soul in a person regardless of the "outer covering", a lesson I have carried with me all these years. I don't think anyone that came in contact with my "lil bro" not been touched by his spirit.
If I had to sum him up in a few words it would be Love, Respect, Giving of self, and all round Nice Guy. I Love You Bro.

Panache.

Puckish.

The last time I saw Hilton and Vicki, we were sharing brunch on a beautiful sunny day in Hawai`i. I don't remember how St. Croix entered the conversation, but it did. I reminisced about dancing in the rain there, many years ago. "It didn't take," I said.
Vicki said, "We danced in the rain in Mexico."
Her face was soft and radiant as she looked at Hilton and remembered.
Then she grinned. "It took."
Aloha nui.
Holly
