Quick check-in on busy and stressful life

Jan 10, 2012 13:03

So amidst staying up all night last night (because of stressed-out freakouts to do with House Stuff, upon which more below), I saw an email cross a list I'm on and responded to it. To make a longish story short, I have an interview for what might be a very-part-time-potentially-growing-to-fullish job, doing data entry and coordination for a local ( Read more... )

Round Lake? That's up by my neck of the woods. how is it those jobs weren't around when I was out of work? That's ok, Wauconda isn't too far from here and like you, it's a part time job, only barely scraping by with bills. Once I get more hours then I'll have bills covered and be able to breath with money in the bank. Hopefully business picks up soon so I get more hours which of course means more money.

Networking, networking, networking: you're not on the Chicagoland Attachment Parenting list, are you? To my knowledge that's the only place she's sought employees yet.

Nope, not there, not a parent. There really weren't that many jobs open in the general Round Lake area when I was out of work. There was this place that made atriums and sun rooms, forgot what it's called, in one of the Round Lakes, looked like they did some nice work. Alas, they never called me. Oh well I'm employed so it's not important anymore.

If you are at all interested in 'drive around performing deliveries all over Chicagoland at oh-dark-thirty several times a week,' that's another portion of her business she's really seriously looking to not have to do her ownself anymore, but it's also a fairly specialized niche, in terms of finding someone who enjoys doing it enough to take it on. :->

Nesko still needs to talk with his dad about coming by to give you a quote. He might end up having his dad give a quote and then doing the work (except the bathroom ceiling) himself, since his dad's experienced at giving quotes (and putting up ceilings).

I've been sending out resumes... just realized I have the wrong phone number on the resume I've been giving out. Durr.

We'd really like to be starting to move in by the end of this month, so we want to line up the work to be done reasonably soon. It shouldn't be more than 2-3 days' worth, even for a single person.

For lender reasons, we need to be able to get an itemized receipt that looks semi-official ... maybe. Hard to tell, because nobody's giving us a straight answer about exactly what 'tests' we need to teach to.
