I am physically incapable of passing up a book meme.

At least this one is relatively short )

Celebrity Jeopardy with contestants Jon Stewart, Anderson Cooper, and Stephen Fry. Thoughts? Brainlust? Urgent appeals to NBC? I thought so.

YES. YESSSSSS.

Rendered otherwise incoherent. Apologise for the display. FLAIL?

You can see Andersoon Cooper totally PWN on Jeopardy over on youtube!

The conversation went something like this-

Me: I want to see Jon Stewart on Jeopardy.
Her: I want to see Jon Stewart vs. Anderson Cooper.
Me: But who would be the third?
Her: It should be someone both clever and gay.
Me: WAIT! Then there can be only one!
Her: STEPHEN FUCKING FRY?!
Me: YES.

TOTAL FLAIL. I dn't know what I'd do if it ever happened. I'd tape it and watch it many many times.

Oh man. Stephen Fry on his own is just. Brilliant. Also, Crack Van may or may have not addicted me to Jeeves+Wooster slash.

Crack Van is love.

HAVE YOU SEEN QI?! You can download eps online somewhere, I think it's bitsoffry though it might be bitsofstephen....anyway, it's sorta a quiz show type thing that Stephen Fry hosts and it's so fucking funny.

That would be the funniest Celebrity Jeopardy ever. Except for Anderson Cooper. I would suggest Dennis Leary in his place.

You might like The Lovely Bones, actually. Although I suggest you stay away from Dune because it is like the most boring book ever.

Aww, but I like Anderson Cooper. Denis Leary would make things funnier, but I want to see people who all really know the answers! I would gladly watch Denis LEary on Jeopardy any day, though.

I'm sorta automatically biased against The Lovely Bones because my mom read it while she was going through her Really Sappy Books phase and loved it and pimped it to everyone and so it kinda sparked an automatic "no thanks" reaction from me.

It's really fucking depressing. It's not bad at all, but not a must-read, either.

I want to read Brave New World! I'm holding off on TKAM because I think I'll be doing that book when I student teach.

The first book is really, really good. As for the trilogy as a whole-- as fantasy goes, it's pretty good; as religious criticism goes it's rather heavy-handed and unsubtle. Id' reccomend it, but imo it doesn't deserve all the hype it's gotten.
