*hugs back* He really was. I'm sad to see him go but glad he was here (and I hope he comes back to coaching or front office soon! *g*)

Did he give any indication that he wanted to do that? He suffered through so much to keep playing, I don't think I see him riding quietly off into the sunset.

Yeah, he's talked before about being fascinated with the front-office workings and wanted to do that, and today he mentioned discussing his future role with the team for the short and long term. If I had to make a guess, I'd say he might end up taking next season off and coming back in some management or coaching capcity for 07-08.

Stevie's a genuine thoroughbred, that's for sure. He will be missed. Detroit lucked out when they drafted him.

i've totally been teary all morning. it's been alternating between tears of joy as i reminisced and as i watched old footage of the cup games and stuff and tears of sadness as i wondered what the hell was going to happen to the wings.

i knew it was coming, we all did, but for this day to acutally come and to see him on tv actually announcing it...it was rough.
