Then, the grand experiment began. (It wasn't too much experimenting, actually.)

In a blender...

2 cups ice (there should be measurements on the blender container)
8 oz creme soda

Oooh, yum! I'm going to have to try this since I'm never going to get to try the "real" thing. Thanks for sharing!

they started selling HP merchandise online at Universal's website...you'd think they'd sell butterbeer sooner or later

I may have to give this a shot as well since you think it is a reasonable approximation of the WW version. Any idea how to do the more liquid variety? I thought both were great...but so surprisingly different from one another.

I would think that mixing the cream soda with the butterscotch in the blender would work without the ice. I discovered as I went along that the butterscotch needs to be adjusted to taste. So pour some in a little glass and taste, adding more if needed, to the stuff in the blender.

It sounds delicious; but it also doesn't sound like it would be as delicious warm, the way the trio love it at the Three Broomsticks. But you say it's chilled at Potterworld? Strange... But however it is, I'm excited about tasting it this fall when I get there.
