bought you all the gifts you wanted and spent all afternoon baking you a cake from scratch

Hmm... a Coach bag you didn't want and she kept. And baking a cake is not difficult at all and takes like an hour.

I'm sorry your mum is being weird and only dealing with the situation by detachment. I think that no matter how she was feeling, it was unfair and petty to send this to you on your birthday instead of waiting until tomorrow or doing it yesterday. I know you love your mum, and I can only imagine how it feels to recieve an email like this from her, but I really think your mum has her priorities out of order. I think that when you make the decision to have children, you make a decision to devote yourself to them. I mean, not be crazy and just give them everything they want, but to be there for them when they need you. No matter how old they are. 'Cause I mean, if you cut off your kids, most people's greatest contribution to the world, then what do you have? A coach bag and a haircut.

Now I've got myself crying heh

Luv
