Part 11
Dara stood by the kitchen door and watched silently as Seunghyun joked with her auntie while helping her dry the dishes. She chewed on her thumbnail worriedly as she took in his tall figure overshadowing everything else in the little kitchen.
He hadn’t said a word about why he was there. He had just been his normal shy polite self; helping with lunch (he could cook better than her which wasn’t much) and had answered every little question her aunt had inquisitively fired at him, smiling at everything, looking at her like he didn’t hate her guts right now.
Yeah so she was suspicious; he couldn’t have gone through the trouble of finding her aunt’s house and coming all the way from Seoul just to stand in her kitchen doing chores.
“Why did you come here?” She blurted out and then immediately regretted how rude she sounded.
“Sandara!” Her aunt glared reproachfully. It was quite obvious that she already liked Seunghyun a lot.
“Sorry.” Dara mumbled.
“It doesn’t matter.” Seunghyun smiled. “I don’t mind. I’m sorry for surprising you Dara. I just wanted to see you before you came back home. I wanted us to talk.”
Dara didn’t want to talk. She felt bad enough without having to prolong the ordeal that was their breakup. But obviously he wasn’t going anywhere seeing as he was standing right in front of her.
“Okay.” She sighed. “Should we go for a walk?”
Seunghyun nodded and smiled again as her aunt patted his back. “Seunghyun fighting!!!”
Traitor! Dara thought sullenly.

“Hey Youngbae.” Jiyong opened his best friend’s bedroom door and deposited his puppy on the floor next to Boss before going over to lie on next to Youngbae on his bed.
“You’re not angry anymore?” Youngbae remarked, putting the phone he’d been using away.
“Sorry.” Jiyong felt contrite. “I overreacted. Forgive me?” He smiled winningly.
Youngbae grinned back and poked his forehead. “Forgiven. What’s in the box anyway?”
“Nothing important.” Jiyong hedged.
Youngbae raised an eyebrow.
“Okay, okay.” Jiyong huffed. “Just lyrics. And some old letters.”
“Huh?” Youngbae was disappointed. “That’s it?”
“Yeah but they’re very important to me.” Jiyong turned to face the ceiling, lying flat on his back and resting his arms on his stomach.
“I see…” Youngbae said. Truth was he didn’t see at all.
“Who wrote them to you? An ex you can’t forget?”
Jiyong shook his head. “I wrote them.”
“How come you never sent them?” Youngbae asked curiously.
“Have you ever loved someone so much and been too scared to tell them?”
Youngbae was surprised. Jiyong? Scared of telling his feelings? Jiyong was the most open person he knew when it came to feelings.
“I don’t get it. You’ve been in love like a hundred times. You’ve had loads of girlfriends so what are you on about? What about all the girls you slept with? I mean you even wrote a song for whatsherface.”
Jiyong curled his lip. “Those were just an infatuations man, there’s a difference.”
Yeah right. Youngbae thought. Not that he could argue. He still hadn’t had a real relationship yet.
“You’re in love with someone? Like for real? How long?”
“Five years.” Youngbae’s eyes widened in astonishment. That long? Well he learnt something new every day. But he couldn’t help but feel hurt that Jiyong had never confided in him.
“She had a boyfriend then. And when they broke up I waited too long to tell her I loved her. The day I found the courage to tell her how I felt, she agreed to be someone else’s girlfriend.”
“Ouch.” Youngbae winced.
Jiyong smiled sadly. “I was right there too. They never saw me standing there. I felt like killing myself.”
Jiyong hummed happily as he walked down the corridor, smelling the small bunch of flowers in his hands. Today it was all or nothing. Now Sandara Park was going to know how he really felt about her. And maybe, just maybe she’d say yes.
He was however stopped in his tracks when he heard familiar voices coming from around the corner. Dara and TOP? Well that was weird, what were they doing together?
He peeked curiously around the corner and smiled. There she was, as beautiful as ever. He could feel his heart begin to pound faster just looking at her. But why were they standing so close together?
“Erm…yes, okay.” Her voice was filled with surprise.
Yes? What did that mean? Yes to what? Jiyong’s brow furrowed in puzzlement.
“Sure Seunghyun, I don’t mind going out with you. I’m sure it will be fun.” Dara smiled.
“Really? Alright!!!” Seunghyun grinned. “Do you mind me holding your hand?”
Dara shook her head and Seunghyun gently placed her hand in his.
As they walked off together neither of them noticed the ashen faced boy standing in the shadows, the look of utter heartbreak in his eyes as the flowers fell from his limp fingers.
“Oh sorry man.” Youngbae said sympathetically, patting Jiyong’s shoulder.
“I don’t feel that bad about it anymore.” Jiyong commented, though his face clearly said otherwise.
“They broke up recently.”
“Well then there’s your chance. Youngbae said excitedly. “Just go up to her and tell her you love her!”
“I already did. She doesn’t believe me cos I’m an idiot and I ruined everything.”
“Like you were ever one to give up easily.” Youngbae scoffed. “Just be persistent. If she sees that you’re sincere, she’ll definitely say yes.”
“Youngbae-ah.” Jiyong sat up abruptly. “Do you remember when we were younger and we both liked that same girl? You know the one you confessed to?”
Youngbae looked at him suspiciously. “Don’t tell your girl’s ex is a friend of yours.”
Jiyong nodded guiltily.
“Seriously!” Youngbae exclaimed in exasperation. “Why do you always fall for girls your friends like man?! That is so not on!”
“I met her first though.” Jiyong pointed out. “But do you think…he’ll hate me if I start dating her? Especially since she’s the one who dumped him? I didn’t care at first but now I don’t want to lose his friendship.”
Youngbae draped his arm around Jiyong’s shoulder and smiled. “Of course he won’t hate you. No one can hate you.”
Well he doesn’t know I’ve been fucking his girlfriend behind his back. Jiyong thought drily.
“Thanks Youngbae. You’re the best.” Jiyong gave him a quick peck on the cheek.
“No problem.” Youngbae grinned. “Though you do realise that any other time I’d be forced to beat you for kissing me right?”
“Arasso.” Jiyong laughed.
“So tell me.” He whispered conspiratorially. “Who would you rather kiss? What’s this I’m hearing about you and CL?”
Youngbae pushed him away in sputtering surprise.
“N-nothing!!! Who have you been talking to?”
“Seungri.” Jiyong grinned. “He has it in the highest authority that…”
His words were cut off by the sudden ringing of Youngbae’s mobile.
“Hello? Hyung!!” Jiyong watched curiously as Youngbae kept nodding in agreement with whoever was at the end of the line.
“Okay. Arasso. See you guys tomorrow.” Youngbae hang up and looked at Jiyong.
“That was Seunghyun hyung. He’s in Busan with Dara noona.”
What?
“Hey Jiyong what’s wrong?” Youngbae asked worriedly. His friend had gone pale all of a sudden.
“Nothing. Just a slight headache.” Jiyong murmured. Of course his mood had been ruined again. He attempted a smile but it couldn’t quite reach his eyes.
“So tell me about you and Chaerin again.”
But he only half listened as Youngbae began talking hesitantly with a tentative smile on his face.
If only he could have it so easy when it came to love.
A/N: sorry for the short chapter, I feel like I’m lagging :(
This chapter was meant to be all about TabiSan but GDYB muscled in and took the spot. And even though I might write on other couplings like YBCL I will not be elaborating anything since the story is not necessarily about them.
And don’t forget to check out my new daragon fic =D
