Gah! I...definitely cried.
I can't even form a coherent or remotely comprehensive comment on this, but as usual, this was A-Mazing! I just...really love your work. I'm continually surprised, and impressed, and I mean, you win me over with delicious John!whump, but more than that, they are so true to how they've been written and realised in canon.

So...yeah. This is like the best thing to wake up to in the morning. You win!

Utterly and completely and wonderfully marvelous!

This is the best thing I have read in a LOOOOOOOOONG while and it was not smut thank GOD!

Question...why not write an answering fic from Sherlock's point of view that the person he was arguing with and saying those things to was himself rather than John because he was trying to detach himself from the first person he had ever truly cared about...you could follow it with the aftermath and realizations Sherlock makes about himself while John is in a coma about his true nature, about friendship, about the work...what matters.

I can see a wonderful narrative thread and you are a brilliant writer...you can pull this off.

I just wish more writers in this fandom would get their heads our of the gutter long enough to see the potential that is here like you have!

(goes back to combing through the smut for gems)

GOD have you have made my day!

Let me start with this-- I love your icon. XD

And then, I am so glad you enjoyed it. Seems to be a plethora of smut in this particular category.

Hmm... :) I really like this idea... Lemme ruminate on it. I really want to produce an overall undertone of Sherlock NOT being a sociopath but manipulating people into thinking so. Going from his POV might make that easier... Hmm... :) I think I have an idea. We'll see if it gets written. If it does, of course, it'll totally belong to you. :D

xD As for the heads out of the gutter idea, you and me both. I want AWESOME friendship. *flail* Please? Someone? Anyone? I want kickass!John and sociallyineptbutbrilliant!Holmes to have EPIC adventures. As friends. So out of the bedroom. You know... doing friend things. X(

;) I'll keep working at making your day. If you find any gems, lemme know.

Friendship is so rare in this over sexualized age, and while they play the whole gay thing for laughs just to watch Martin Freeman squirm which he does better than any other actor alive, I feel it is in the constant struggle trying to stay friends that really has transcended other simular television shows. They whole speech to John about not making people heroes that he was being a fool for thinking Sherlock is one and that speech from Lestrade about him maybe being a good man and not just a great one...the way he desperately tore that bomb from John's body and threw it away then they joked about him ripping his clothes off in a darkened swimming pool and that laugh they shared!

The friendship is so beautiful why obscure it with smut...its like taking a Van Gough and drapping it with Neon lights because you don't think its bright enough...SIGH!

glad someone agrees with me!
if you'd like some help writing the sequel let me know~

Bart

Glad you liked the icon...it makes me smile :)

He's definitely too textbook, and the attachment at the end was sweet. I think the story both proves or disproves your idea, depending on point of view, as Sherlock's label clearly means something to him. Either way, loved the story, especially the end.

And now Barney has come on TV, and I think my brain will explode with the contrast.

I wish I knew more about it other than the definition and symptoms so I could write a definitive proof that he's NOT a sociopath. :) Until then, I'll just let him think he is and let John decide it doesn't matter.

When I wrote this, Veggie Tales was playing in the background. You can imagine how my brain oozed out my ears.

As far as I've observed, sociopathy's most prominent traits are manipulation, complete lack of empathy, and disregard for laws/authority. Sadly, I've known a lot of nutty people, but those I think three things are what really set apart sociopaths, compared to, say, the lack of empathy that people with Asperger's can have, or general anti-social behavior, which often doesn't involve any manipulation, or narcissism, or people with violent tempers. Sometimes the manipulation is really subtle, but it's very constant.

Oh boy, Veggie Tales melts my brain as well!

That was utterly sublime. So very John to actually want to prove to others that Sherlock was a decent man. And the ending did make me well up just a little bit.

Absolutely fantasmagorical.
