So much death in the family within my three weeks of break from school. First, my dad's relative. Then, my mom's uncle. Now it's my grandma's turn

Here, when the grandmother dies, school give you off for going to the funeral. You just need a note or a phone call from your parents to approve it. Is it diffent in the states?

Each school is different in the states. My high school would excuse my absence if a loved one died, but I don't know about college. The problem is that I have to fly back home if I am going to attend the funeral, so I would probably be gone from school for a couple days. It would be a huge hassle, but because it's for my grandma, it would be worth it.

I would sticks around for a while. When my grandfather died during my freshman year of college ey excused me for a full week. They even let me take a midterm at a later date. You don't have tod continue your family's bullshit excuses. People don't want to show emotion or vulnerability. It's what makes us human.

I've visited my grandma each day while she was in the hospital. It actually seems like she's getting a little better, so she will most likely go home for a bit.
