Edit: Let's just get something straight. Due to a nasty e-mail I just received, I want to clear something up. I don't want anybody's money. This is me thinking out loud and wanting to get it written down somewhere. I don't take hand outs, and I DO NOT want any charity. Every time I post something to the internet, I seem to have some fuckface ( Read more... )

Where'd you go for glasses? I ended up going to Pearle Vision since sadly, I have a fucked up prescription and they seemed to be the cheapest way to go. Plus I got 2 pairs for about 450 all in. They have some buy one get one free going on or get one for 25% off.

I know it's not my place, but if you've got any coverage from ODSP, They'll fork out about 140 towards glasses. And it's a pain to get the papers, but worth it to save a few bucks.

Good luck trying to get new glasses, I know how important they are.

It's a toss up between 2 places in the city, and since I didn't factor in an eye exam and other shit, they'll be costing me close to $450 or so, too.
I haven't had ODSP for 2 and a half years now, so they won't cover anything.
Looks like they're going on the Visa.
Oh well, I'd rather be in debt than not be able to see.

ordering glasses online is also way cheaper.
you need to get a few extra measurements from the optometrist (called pupillary distance i think) and you also need to know your prescription.

but instead you're looking at $50/pair. something to consider.

Cheaper, yes. A gamble as well. I have to try them on my face before I shell out the cash (abnormal head, nose has been broken, so they have to be able to sit in a certain place to not be painful).
Cheapest is not always best. No matter the situation.
