new york trip!!!!

Ok this is for all the people who wanted to know what I did in NYC these past 5 days. yeah, hard to believe but I spent 5 days in that city...granted it was cold and rainy whereas my hometown was warm and sunny but wth...NYC was cooler than being stuck at home over Spring Break.

ok so we left on Saturday March 27th at 4AM in the morning....granted our flight left at 630 and we got in to LaGuardia Airport at 930 am. We drove out to the Hotel in a shuttle bus, that took maybe an hour to get from one place to the next.

From there we bought subway tix (main mode of transport besides walking everywhere) and rode the subway downtown to the New York Museum of Modern Art, I have no pics for that one but there is a whole exhibit there on Tim Burton of TNBC fame...it was interesting but mildly claustrophobic there.

after that we walked around Rockefeller center...that think is like 8 freaking blocks of buisness...

After that we went to the biggest and oldest Gothic Church in the entirety of North America. IT IS HUGE AND FREAKING AMAZING!!!!!!! (I bought a 2 dollar candle for my deceased friend Adam...he will remain in my heart and prayers for a long time to come)

After that we walked down to Times Square, that place is beautiful but way to crowded and everything there is a rip off...its like 20 dollars for a characature that could be done in Chinatown for 5...

then we went to sleep... at like 9pm because we were all way to tired to do anything else...

Sunday was another busy day...we went to more churches, I am a total dork I named all of the archetechtural elements in all of the churches...no picks again.

We saw Ground Zero and I ended up buying a necklace version of the cross that was found there.

South Street Seaport was fun and I really really liked the guy working at the Bath and Body Works, I didn't spend much money there but I do recommend the Belgin Chocolate Ice Cream at the Hagen Das there...it is the only place in the US that sells it, the only other location? LONDON. it's like 5 bucks, try it...omg I died inside.

We then went to Ellis Island...that place radiates the feel of history and pain....it's really really sad to go there and read about what happened in there and what the immegrants had to go through...

Then we went home for to the hotel for an hour, before heading off to go see Fuerzabruta, an off broadway performance art kina show...it as amazing but again the claustrophobia was a problem in a large group.. THen it was bedtime.

Monday we went Uptown (and half the group started singing Uptown Girl on the subway) to Ripley's Believe It or Not. and hung out in Time's Square for a litte while and then we went to the Guggenheim...I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN IT IS TALL AND ROUND AND DID I MENTION TALL?!

After 2 hours there, we ate vendor food and walked through Central Park, IN THE RAIN, and went to the American Museum of Natural History, where I didn't see anything because I spent 3 hours in the bathrooms vomiting up vendor food...it was not fun.

Then we went to Chinatown...where I bought a necklace for my little sister, headphones and a car charger for my ipod, all under 15 dollars. I was very proud of that. and of course, My group went into 3 different bakeries but I couldn't eat anything or even buy food without feeling sick to my stomach.

That feeling continued into the next day, when we ent to the Met, I will post those pics next, and we got soaked through, but after 4 hours there we warmed up and dried off. We ate a little bit at the museum but the we walked down to the Frick Mansion for about 45 minutes.

Both the Met and The Frick are places I serioulsy recommend going, but get a free audio tour at the Frick, it helps a lot.

Becuase it was raining like crazy we did not get to see the site of John Lennon's Murder or Strawberry Fields but I keep hearing that they aren't places of intrest so I don't really care.

We then went back to the Hotel and I met up with my cousin for dinner, he took me to a pub but I had dumplings so I was happy....and then my trip mates and I went to go see a broadway play called In The Heights...starring Corbin Bleu of High School Musical fame... It wasn't as bad as I expected it to be but he was still really really bad...but it was better than the afore-mentioned movie.

Wednesday was the final day of our trip, sadly.

We went to SoHo, IT HAS NO SALES TAX FOR ANYTHING UNDER 100USD, and I bought myself a t-shirt from my new favorite store, Yellow Rat Bastard. It's amazing....

then it was back to Chinatown and I bought a  T-Shirt and a onesie for my cousin's baby boy. it reads If I don't sleep, NOBODY sleeps. I acutally had an appietite on Wednesday so I had some sweet buns and pork buns and omg...I LOVE CHINESE FOOD...not the american version but honest to god chinese food.

then it was back to the hotel and we got shipped off to the airport for 3 freaking hours...I hate airports...

and now I am home again...
