...of whales, Taco Bell runs, and extreme weight loss.

I've been pretty busy these last few days, and, as a result, I've been neglecting everyone's posts. Now worries, though; I'm reading, and I promise I'll catch up!

Ok so...I guess I'll start with the weekend.

On Friday I went with a group of friends to the Florida Keys - more specifically Key Largo - to save whales ( Read more... )

work, summer, random

I feel a bit bad for laughing at your whale story but it was the "WHO'S READY TO SAVE SOME WHALES?!" that really got me! I'm also quite jealous that your life involves such randomness and tending to the needs of a smelly whale.

Haha, I couldn't tell if he was trying to be funny/facetious on purpose, or if he actually thought that we were all excited to get in the water with a dangerous, contagious whale.

As awful as the experience was, however, it definitely makes for a good story, so I'm not completely bummed about it.

Lol, I know! At least something good came out of my suffering.

And eh. My job sucks, but luckily I'm getting some money out of it and my misery isn't for naught? (Trying to stay positive here, lol. Otherwise it's going to be a loooong summer)

I've been neglecting everyone's posts, too! :\

known to brutally attack their own kind because that's what they consider to be "fun."

Jeebus o.O

I'm sorry as well, but I totally laughed my ass off at the "WHO'S READY TO SAVE SOME WHALES?!" part XD Also, after that orientation, I would have been like, "Um, no. I'll just watch." You are super brave to not only tend to a whale that could have very well killed you at any point, but to tend to it while swimming in its pee. Ewwwwwww.

I think the pee thing was honestly the grossest part. I'm saving the whale, and it pees on me. Clearly it didn't appreciate my efforts to save it :/ lol. But the more I think about it, the more accomplished I feel. And, at the very least, it'll be an entertaining story to tell my future kids, haha.

...fuck the whales.
ROFL, THIS IS LITERALLY THE LAST THING I EXPECTED TO READ AFTER THAT BEAUTIFUL BEGINNING TO THIS ENTRY. /caps lock

I'm sure that instructor had no reason to lie, but I find it hard to believe that whales could pass parasites to us. That's probably the best way to keep hundreds of volunteers from overly touching the whales. Little do I know, I'll probably die from a whale disease now.
