I keep getting halfway through writing blog posts and then starting again when I come back to them, because they're too boring. Because most of the point for me of having a blog is not for people to read it, but for me to write it. So once I've already written it, there's no need to post it. My thesis is in! Hooray!

Basically I spend most of the past week staying up till 3 and going crazy. Now I massively need sleep so I'm not quite sure why I'm still up. I slept about for about three hours earlier this evening, which was one of those great naps where you don't actually intend to sleep for that long.

Thesis is due in on.. noon on friday. That's rather less than four days away. I still haven't finished writing all the words, at my current rate I will probably finish them but might not have time to do things like cut out the swearwords or do a bibiliography or make it make sense. Announcement so I actually do it:

For the next 17 days, until my thesis is in, I am not allowed to read any webcomics. I am doing all my work in the computer room where I can't turn the internet off, and I'll still have the urge to Not Do Work at all times, but I can at least make sure I don't have anything interesting available to distract me.

I have ordered a new computer! It's going to arrive at my house, in manchester, four days before I need to hand in my thesis, in oxford. So the 'get a new computer to write my thesis on' idea didn't work out so well. So currently I'm doing all my writing on the family computer, which seems reasonably well-behaved these days, because typing on my ( Read more... )

This week I have been mainly: getting angry at my laptop. In addition to being old and slow and overheating and not accepting cds, it has now added the trick of constantly going into standby mode. I'm not exactly sure what makes it do this, but it seems to be triggerred by me pressing keys. To keep things interesting, though, I have some limited ( Read more... )
