I'm not sure how much it will help, but there's the link anyway. I've left criticism comments in both news and lj_releases voicing my dissatisfaction. This not only looks tacky, it makes RP life much more difficult and frustrating. Not even customized comment pages, which I loathe, help with everything.
I'll have to drop them a line, though LJ's history proves it's doubtful that it'll help. I've already left comments on the news post and even that Russian guy's post, but yeah, 53+ pages of angry comments, and LJ has yet to comment. Maybe they are operating under the delusion that people don't mean what they're saying about taking their business elsewhere and assume that all this will just blow over. Well, I for one am never giving LJ any more of my money unless they fix it. ALL of it. It's just...so hard to look at, RPing is destroyed, and memes are even MORE destroyed. All-around FAIL.

AUGH, I KNOW RIGHT. I really, REALLY hate how sneaky they were about it, too. There was an announcement up in RUSSIAN, but you know what, there's a significant portion of the userbase that can't read that. And the current LJ news post says OHAY THERE WILL BE CHANGES SOON, MORE INFORMATION LATER...and yeah, guess what, THERE WASN'T. THEY JUST CHANGED THINGS ANYWAY. There are now 53+ pages of angry comments from users on that latest post, and I have yet to see the LJ staff respond to any of them.
I just...really Do Not Understand. Pretty much EVERY comm that I was actually active in uses the subject lines! And the whole reasoning for them being removed being "the (no subject) on unnamed threads looks ugly"? EFF YOU, LJ. People use them FOR TRIGGER WARNINGS IN MEME COMMUNITIES, I think that is a LITTLE more important than how it looks. People might be LITERALLY hurt over this. And yeah, I guess we can all just forget RPing here any more, 'cause I can hardly stand to look at these horrible comment pages

I have never before complained about ANY of the LJ changes. But this...there IS no bright side. There is absolutely NOTHING that I can see that was improved, only things that were taken away or destroyed. B|
It's just a big nuisance, really. All because they thought the "(no subject)" looked ugly. And this new post layout. Ugh.
If only there were a bigger community of players and just people in general on InsaneJournal, DreamWidth, or even Scribbld, I'd make the move permamently.
Well, I was being sorely tempted to slip back into LJ RPing for real instead of being productive and actually writing something original...but that's certainly not the case anymore. This just makes it 200x easier to never go back to public RPing. Maybe that IS a silver lining of sorts, even if it makes me want to go HULK SMASH the Russian LJ HQ, wherever it is. B|

There are just SO many things that are bad or wrong with these changes. 53+ pages of commenters over on the news page can't be wholly wrong, LJ why aren't you listening, taking notes, giving users what they want which I had thought was kind-of important, but clearly must not be. I mean, if they wanted to fix something, how about doing something about how slow comment notifs consistently are? I haven't gotten a single e-mail about ANY of these comments yet--I saw them in my LJ inbox, since I've had to take to checking that instead of e-mail if I want to see people's replies on the same day they make them.

I really hope they go back on this, too. I didn't really care either way when it came to the profile changes, because although the changes weren't so pretty, the blasted thing still did everything it was supposed to, unlike these ~new and improved~ comment pages. B|
HEY YEAH, THAT SURE WOULD BE A HANDY THING TO BE ABLE TO DO! But no, now we can only edit our comments or re-post/delete comments once we've fixed the HTML (maybe), then rinse and repeat if it's STILL not right, making MORE e-mail notifs for LJ to send out two days late. B|
