THE NAIL IN AREA 51'S COFFIN

I will never go to Anderson's Fifth Estate again. Ever. I don't care who's playing. Not to mention the regular industrial/goth/80's night has always sucked aardvark balls.
Anderson's cancels Genesis P-Orridge show because she's transgender.

What year is it again?

Have you seen the previous story that led up to this? The transgender patrons had been one of the loud problem parties that night and the bathroom thing was the final straw it seems. Several transgender women in the women's bathroom made a bunch of the ovarie sporters in the restroom uncomfortable. The women then complained to management and gave the ole "We'll take our business elsewhere" line. The owner figuring he had way more female customers then transgender asked them to leave knowing that having them go in the mens room would only be trouble ( ... )

A Bar in Manhattan is also in deep legal woes after asking a butch female to leave the women's restroom cuz the, how you say, 'ovarie sporters' were way uncomfy and didn't realize ovaries were also in the man appearing person.
That owner is also being told to install a 3rd bathroom, private stall situation.
It just sux. Especially once you have to start paying the lawyers.
I would surmise phoenix and scottsdale suck donkey balls in their own speshial ways.
PS- 'Morally Upstanding" and scottsdale are not terms which seemed linked to I at all. I betcha more crossdressers/etc are in snottsdale than phoenix, and I bet they have better accessories. And I betcha there are more ladies wielding strap ons for their husband dearests.
PPS-friend who made a living as a Dom got most of her business outta scottsdale--Not Phoenix.

I just think it's sad that people think they can go to a club, the one place where anything is supposed to go, and then get all uptight and nasty.

Misha tells me Scottsdale is fulla uptight Republicans with too much money for the brains they have.

I bet Phoenix won't have a problem.

Scottsdale will take the money such events bring but don't want to ruin their image as a Morally Upstanding Family-centered "city." More recently, they tried shutting down a rather large fetish carnival that was held legally and discreetly inside the Venue of Scottsdale, a 2-story concert venue. They didn't want freaks in their city, but they didn't have any qualms about taking their money.

I wouldn't say Phoenix is more accepting than Scottsdale, since the entire valley is basically a bunch of suburbs blended into one pancake city. But Phoenix proper does have the lion's share of alt-lifestyle restaurants and venues.

"since the entire valley is basically a bunch of suburbs blended into one pancake city."

Spoken by someone who has only lived in Alaska, LA, and Phoenix. You want to know the horror of endless suburbs, check out the greater Grand Rapids area sometime.

Hah, you forgot Ritzville/Spokane, WA and Omaha, NE miss ;)

I've seen enough of the States, methinks. Still need to check out Chicago, but it's time for me to check out the cities on the other sides of the oceans.
