Woah - the angst-o-meter was certainly cranked up to high on that one! {sniff}

Excellent fic and such beautiful writing... and as usual I am left wanting more!

Yeah, the angst was definitely strong in this one. I couldn't resist, since it was so plaintively requested. I'm so glad that you liked it!

WOW.

Such beautiful angst that I'm left without the proper words to describe how awesome it is.

Oh, Scully.

Thank you very much! I'm thrilled that you enjoyed it despite the rather depressing content.

Ohhhh, Scully!

This is marvelous, and so perfect for this arc (which I just finished rewatching, coincidentally).

She totally had the worst life. Worse than even Honoria, I think, though it's a hard call. Anyway, thank you very much.

First person is not a favorite of mine, but 1) You do it masterfully & 2) It suits the tale that is told, and the tone.

"Go for it," Ellen advised. "Do something kinky with your handcuffs."

Bwah! Your sharp wit amidst the angst, I love it.

I sat in that closet and was half-glad he had gagged me because I think my own screams might have driven me insane before Mulder showed up. And if this is what can happen to the living, what is there to fear from death?

Oh, that one was like a knife. Wickedly piercing and perfect.

Couple other lines I loved (there were more, but I contained myself):

If Hell is what waits for liars, I'm prepared to burn there with the glory of a martyr.

I feel naked with their eyes upon me, now that they know they'll probably be sending my mother a fruit basket and form letter by the New Year.

Last line is killer.

You wear angst so very very well.

Wow! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such thoughtful feedback. It really means a lot to me. I'm generally leery of first-person fic as well, so it's more than a little gratifying to hear that it worked for you in this case.

This was painful, but in the best way. I loved the way you wove in little bits from their years together, which tempered the Angst.

Also, anything mixing Xeno's paradox and Margaret Atwood references is great in my book!

Thank you so much! I'm very glad that you liked it, despite the, um, soul-crushing misery that was Scully's life at this time. (And she still hadn't lost any of her children yet. Or found Mulder dead. Oh, Scully...)

I always thought Margaret Atwood would be on her shelves. I know I had her read The Handmaids' Tale in something I wrote a while back.
