you know what was a good movie? manhattan.
the 70's were definitely the best decade of the 20th century for New York.

I would agree, though I would only concur because of a sense I have of it being "right", not because I have any substantiative evidence to support it...

My parents make a point out of making me watch every movie that shows New York in the 70s just so I can see how filthy and disgusting it was.

Also, last time I was in the city with my dad, I had to convince him that really, we could take the subway, because apparently in the 70s/80s when my parents lived there they never took the subway because it was like DEATH DOOM AND GRAFFITI.

Of course, life may have rocked then. It was just apparently really dirty. :P
