Netflix Instant Watching

We used Netflix's Instant Watching streaming feature tonight for the first time (we watched "The Breakfast Club" and the first few minutes of "The Matrix" on the Media Center PC hooked up to our TV). Yeah, the selection kind of stinks, and sadly, our download time is SLOOOOW. I'm glad you reminded me of this feature, though. Now I don't have to wait for Hobie's movie to be returned before I can watch a new one! And Breakfast Club sounds just about right.

The quality is better than most DVD rips on BitTorrent. As the name implies, it starts playing virtually instantly, instead of having to wait hours or days for it to download. And, if you're already a NetFlix subscriber (which in the US, everyone in our demographic seems to be...), then it's as free as BitTorrent.

And it's guilt-free, if one is plagued by such things.

(of course, the selection on NetFlix is still problematic)
