Cholesterol

I have a pretty lousy cholesterol profile, and a family history of heart disease (all on my mother's side: my grandmother died of a heart attack in her 60's, one of my uncles had a nearly fatal heart attack in his 40's, and my mom came within minutes or hours of a heart attack at 59 and ended up having quad bypass surgery). I have no problems with cholesterol, nor does anyone in my family, but it is one factor I keep track of. Let us know how this works out.

My latest diet refinement is simplicity itself, which makes it so much easier to follow. Perhaps you are doing something similar?

1) Eat like a king at breakfast, a prince at lunch, and a peasant at dinner.

2) 2500-3000 kcal/day (I work out a lot, so adjust your input depending on what you do)

3) Fruits/veggies : dairy/fish : meat in roughly a 5:3:1 ratio.

I used to do the reverse, but I've found the above makes me feel better in the long run. When I eat carbs, I front load them--more in the morning, some in the afternoon, and as little as possible after 1600 hours.

Then one or two times a week I let it all hang out and eat/drink whatever I like. Life is not a gulag, after all.

To life and good health!

Beal out.
