In response to Zach S.'s comment, Mr. K did not suggest a single one of those plays. His list was: Pride and Prejudice (top choice), Tom Jones, The Matchmaker, and something else I can't remember. Danny L., I believe your mom suggested most of those plays, incidentally. As to the recentness of Midsummer, so what? None of us were in it, and if we're looking for a big cast, large ensemble, classical comedy, that's the way to go. Plus, very few people at the school have seen a full Shakespeare play, let alone a comedy (English classes insist on teaching only tragedies). I feel, after being in four 20th century plays, it's time for something classical. I tend to favor The Way of the World (though I really would have liked a Moliere piece). It's a Restoration era comedy, very broad, and highly funny. As to your concerns, Zach L., about the complexity of the plot, it is, like any Restoration play, indeed complicated. Still, we handled the highly allegorical Skin of Our Teeth, and I have confidence that we could pull off such a ( ... )
