I just LOVE the way you arrange your prose. I doesn't feel like reading, after the first few paragraphs, no akward hitch of strange wording and flat storytelling- it becomes a silent picture, with enough detail that the frame seems full and fast enough flow that you can impose your own assumptions about the characters and relationships without having to pause and decipher what you're making of the story.

My knowledge of Avatar is a patchy memory of every other episode and enthusiastic friends giving me the 411 on everything, but this feels involved and precise, as precise as an AU can be, without having to have fastidiously watched every episode. Wonderful!

*blushes forever* I'm so glad you liked it! Honestly, pace is something that I always struggle with, and most times I feel like its just choppy and not-understandable... so I'm like, so happy you thought it worked :DD

Absolutely loved this. It's pretty rare to find a Jetko fic that has a content feeling to it at the end that didn't require miles and miles of angst to achieve it. Even in AUs, it seems like these two are fated to be at odds first and foremost, poor guys. So I really liked this because (even though angst is good) there wasn't an overwhelming amount of it weighing everything down. Jet and Zuko, despite the alternate universe, were still very much like their canon selves. And I loved the comic book - wonderful touch with that.

Anyway, just found your journal today and read "Asleep on the Wind" and thought I'd see if you had anymore awesome fics here, and you do! XD

Thank you so much! And you're right about the angst; that was one of the reasons why I wrote this! I'd read about one too many angst!bending, and while that's great every now and then, sometimes you just need a romance, you know? :) I'm glad you liked the comic book. I saw it on amazon and figured it'd be perfect for Jet :D

I know this is super old and all, and it might be weird that I stumbled across it, but I'm really glad I did. Very well written AU, I loved the dynamic between the two of them. You had their personalities pegged. One of my favorite Jetko fics! <3
