So. I am diligently working on my BB, due in holyshit less than two weeks, but I am about one more failed date scene from divorcing it and huddling up in a corner in despair. And, fuck that, I'm 20 tomorrow; totally don't need that shit. So, I wrote myself a birthday present. :) Also, it was gonna be one of those cliche five-things fics, but this

You are alive, and writing fantastic stuff!
I'm sorry to hear that life and writing are sort of beating you down right now, but this at least proves that you certainly have the ability to write, no matter what you might feel about what you've written. I can't wait to read your Big Bang--I didn't know you were participating, though I suppose that explains where you've gone lately.
This was gorgeous. I loved the subtlety of the emotion you conveyed, and how in-character Spock's ennui and dissatisfaction felt. He wasn't despairing or over the top, and neither you or he ever outright stated what he was feeling, but it came through clearly all the same. Imma re-read now.
(ALSO! It's your birthday tomorrow! Interestingly, you share it with my mother. I'm not much of an author, but if you wanted to give me a prompt I'll try to write something short for you?)

Big Bang was the same way; I signed up then freaked out and didn't start writing until like, last month. Thanks so much for the praise; you don't even know. You just made my birthday.
Also, don't you dare think that you aren't much of an author, you are brilliant and an amazing author and shame on you for thinking otherwise! In that vein, I would love you forever wrote me something (granted, I kind of already do love you, so I don't know if my continuing undying love is much of an incentive, but still :)) So, um. And you know I'm not very picky; anything you write for me I'd be sure to cherish forever! :)

It'll probably just be a snippet cause your birthday is tomorrow and also because I have the attention span of a particularly brain-damaged monkey, but I'll try. Give me some form of prompt, though; drunkenness? Kid!fic? Random porn?

This was lovely-- I loved the imagery you worked in, especially at the bar, and how Spock was illogically and wonderfully entranced by Jim right from the start. :) (Also, I see you there, Zac Brown Band, and that song's going to be stuck in my head for at least a week!)

I had that song playing on repeat while I was writing this, so it'll be stuck in my head forever now too! Also, every time I hear it now I'll think of Kirk and Spock :)

This is going to sound like such a silly thing to be praising, but I love that you had responsible chocolate consumption. Pretty much every fic I've read ends with a chocolate drunk mess and it was absolutely refreshing to see something different. I'm such a nerd for loving it.
Having Spock do something so bold was beautiful. And Jim putting on his bitchface for Gary. I just absolutely loved all of this.
