Severe Zombie Warning

Oct 18, 2004 17:08

A few weeks ago, I had one of those terrifyingly real nightmares about zombies, bridges and tornadoes. My alarm sounded before I could resolve any of the tension that had built up, and since then, I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. Every time I drive over the bridge from the dream, I flash back to the crawling bodies and screaming winds ( Read more... )

Good to see you post again. I always think that my journal can be left or picked up at any part, as its content doesn't change that much. That said, it's been a good year, but a good year with some good things and some bad things.

I'm glad y'all came through the hurricanes in good order. We live in a cookie-cutter home, too, but it's kinda grown on me. I'm glad you survived the big layoffs at work. I know that those can be nerve wracking. We had a friend who was all but guaranteed a layoff year after year, but actually ended up getting a transfer to the cool place he really wanted to work.

I've never seen a Mountain Goats show, nor even a death metal band in Denton. I wish I could record genius on a boom box.

I hope you have a nice vacation!

Always good to hear from you!

If you ever find a moment, seeing a live show is something I'd highly recommend. I've slowed down enough to not be terribly into the live music scene, but tMG live qualifies as a MUST.

The Mountain Goats fellow gets such loyal fans, that he must be doing something right live!

I'll watch for his next visit to our fair metropolis. I don't see many folks live anymore, but he'd be an interesting show. Most of my purchases these days are ambient artists who only have 5 fans, much less 5 tour dates, so it's good to see someone who has a cult following :)

Hahaha, Bill was telling me about the trash incident. At least he had the decency to feel sheepish about it. I have still not seen your house, though I've heard such wonderful things about it. It had Bill wanting to sell this shitbox for about a month. Then we came to our senses and accepted the fact that we are entirely too poor for suburbia.

It's so good to hear from you. You should update more often.

We're still lazily trying to arrange a little gathering here, so I'll be sure to let you know if/when that happens. In the meantime, you and Jared have an open, standing invitation. Chris and I had a really good time the last time we all were together, and we'd like to see more of you guys.

That's a fantastic idea. That way, if he doesn't make Vice President, he can still ba a janitor somewhere.

Garnet and Dudley, sittin' in a tree...

So far, my plans have consisted of cleaning the heck out of the house and cooking/freezing food to last through the impending apocalypse. Assuming the world doesn't end, Friday might be good for me, with the mister working late and all.
