Sam put down his pencil. Dean focused on the TV, hoping Sam was just stuck on a math problem and wouldn't be looking to him for a distraction.
"Hey, Dean?"
Dang it. "Yeah?" he replied, but didn't look away from the TV.
"Who else does what Dad does?" Sam asked.
Dean glanced over. "What?"
"You know--" Sam wiggled his fingers.
Dean didn't know at first. He turned down the volume and looked at his brother for a moment before getting it. "You mean hunting?"
"Yeah. I mean, I guess Uncle Bobby?"
Dean thought fast. It was a good question. Not that anything would ever happen, but Sam should know who he could contact. And maybe knowing about the others would make him feel better. "Yeah, and Caleb and Pastor Jim..."
Sam let out his breath in a huff. "Do we know anyone who isn't?"
Dean hadn't thought about it in precisely those terms, but... "Not, like, our teachers in school," he said lamely.
Sam rolled his eyes. "I figured that." He moved from the kitchen table to the couch. "Is it like the SuperFriends or something?"
Dean stared. "The SuperFriends?"
Sam flushed a little, but kept going. "You said Dad's like a superhero," he reminded Dean. "So, like, mostly they fight on their own, but sometimes they work together?"
Dean turned it over in his mind. "I guess so," he conceded.
Sam smiled, a small smile. "So who's Dad?"
"Who?"
Sam's smile was a little more mischievous this time. "Like...Aquaman?"
Dean gaped. "Aquaman? Sammy, come on."
Sam half-shrugged. "I'm just asking. Who do you think Dad is?"
"Batman," Dean said. "The Batmobile has nothing on the Impala, though."
Sam rolled his eyes a bit. "How about Uncle Bobby?"
Dean sat back. "We're not just talking SuperFriends, right? Because, dude, Uncle Bobby is totally Beast."
Sam really smiled at that, and Dean, encouraged, leaned back.
"How about Pastor Jim?" he mused.
"Professor X," Sam said immediately.
"Yeah, that's pretty good." Dean was getting into it now. They decided the identities of a couple of other friends before Sam thought of another question.
"So, where's the Hall of Justice?"
Dean snorted. "A place where all the hunters meet up? We don't have one." Then a sudden realization hit him and he groaned. "Oh, man."
"What?"
"I just realized."
"What?"
"We don't have something else, either."
Sam looked at him anxiously.
"We have no Catwoman, no Wonder Woman, no Rogue."
Sam rolled his eyes and threw a pillow at Dean. "Whatever." He went back to the table and started on his homework again.
"Seriously, Sammy, we need to find some chicks."
Sam shook his head. "Sure, Dean."
Dean shrugged and turned the volume back up. "I'm just saying."
