"You leave Dean alone."
Ruby raised her eyebrows. "So the whole 'Dean' part of the 'saving Dean' thing...?"
"If you know anything, you know he can't--if he tries to save himself, I'll die." Sam's eyes narrowed. "Unless that's been your goal this whole time. You goddamn bitch--"
Ruby could throttle him sometimes. "You always think that I am lying about everything--why?"
"Demons lie," Sam snarled. "You've been one hundred percent with me? About everything?"
Ruby looked into his eyes and lied again. "Yes."
Sam looked unsure for the first time, just a little, just in the eyes, but Ruby knew she still had him.
"You didn't say you were a witch before you were a demon," Sam said stubbornly.
Ruby rolled her eyes. "Oh, my God. I'm sorry, did I not tell you that I like piña coladas and getting caught in the rain? Did you want a medical history, too?"
"What else have you neglected to mention?" he asked through gritted teeth.
Ruby raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. "I don't have time for this." She turned away, testing Sam.
"Ruby."
His voice was cold, hard. She turned.
"If you're lying to me about saving Dean, I will kill you."
There it was. That wasn't a threat, that was fact. It was his tone that sold it, that had Ruby exulting on the inside. Sweet innocent Sam? No more. "That's my boy," she said with a smile.
