1. By making CDRs illegal, you are also making it difficult for people to save their files easily. I know that when I finish a report, I burn it right to a CDR. These people are retards.

2. It's funny how the RIA can cheat us for years when it comes to CD prices, and then make a huge stink about people dealing with MP3s. I mean, hello, PEOPLE ARE STILL BUYING MUSIC. :O

Yeah, I especially agree with point #2 of the individual above me. Fuck the RIAA and their stupid bullshit.

Our government is so fucking brilliant sometimes it's amazing, especially our congressmen. Yes, let's ban cars and guns, because THEY can be used to kill people *gasp*. Which is so much worse than pirating stuff. And, oh my, people can die from alcohol and tobacco. Why don't we ban that too?

Buch of savages in this town, I tell ya.

Well, if you read the article I provided =P There are multiple historical accounts of congressmen who *Didn't* fall for corporate schemes in terms of manufacturing and endorsing certain copyright laws. Obviously this Utah guy is a bit of a dip, but I don't think I was trying to extend it to the whole of congress.

Also, I think a lot of the movements being made by corporations to protect their income and more preemptive then anything-they see that mp3s will eventually turn even the common computer-non-saavy person away from CDs. Read the speech I linked to for more specific information on that.

Hopefully history will just repeat itself..again.

Orrin Hatch hethatishere June 18 2004, 16:07:10 UTC
Orrin Hatch is a psycho Republican. Most of the bills he puts forth fortunately fail, but he's still really dangerous and just stands as a posterboard example of how "legally" corrupt the American Government is. We were the only Modern Nation to reject the UN's Anti-Corruption bill last year.

So where does Orrin Hatch's money come from? Exactly where you think it is: http://www.opensecrets.org/politicians/contrib.asp?CID=N00009869&cycle=2002
