so over winter, i thought i'd take the chance to do some more superorganic gardening experiments.

well, we're certainly hoping so.

more companion planting this year, should help get the right cooperative spirit going on between the bugs and plants...

last year we planted potatoes and sunflowers near each other and couldn't work out why our spuds didn't do so well the nearer they got to the sunflowers. Over winter, whilst researching planting techniques on the net, we found out that potatoes and sunflowers are "antagonistic" to each other, which explains a lot! (who knew though, eh?).

but at least the soil is rich and nutritious this year, so fingers crossed this may be our greatest yielding year to date.

it's taken three seasons to get the soil back to a decent condition..

but soil is something you have to "build"
