An unconditional offer from Oxford. I have known it for a while now, but still - now it's really official. It's there. On UCAS. Congratulations! Balliol is a lovely college (well, I would say that, wouldn't I?), and Oxford is a wonderful place to live. I'm American and when I applied to Oxford, people said exactly the same things to me that they've been saying to you--"What a brave thing to do" etc--but it's been one of the best decisions I ever made.

Thank you! I think people are quite intimidated by Oxford -- everyone here thinks that I'm going off to some snooty private school... What subject are you doing?

I'm now working on my doctorate, but as an undergrad I did Modern History and Politics.
