I have felt like this SO many times. I noticed that when I pretended to be happy and TRIED to go places while I have felt like this it made it worse. "sitting with your hurt/sad/angry" feelings actually helps. Masking them (I have found) only makes it worse.
I know this hasn't helped, but at least you know you aren't alone....
i know it's cliche but i just want to put it out there...you can always talk to me. if you decide you do want to talk about it, i'm a good listener. :)

Maybe the depression is related to being unemployed? I was unemployed for about four months before I started working at Home Depot and I was in a horrible depression and was sick constantly.
If you are having serious regrets, your friend is right, talking about it may help. But if it is really going to hurt someone maybe I wouldn't talk about it to that person... but if you need to make a apologies that can be very therapeutic. Use your best judgment.
