Question for y'all: Who are your favorite visual artists? Avant-gardists, comics illustrators, animators, whatever. My "big three" at the moment are Francis Bacon, Robert Rauschenberg, and Aubrey Beardsley. And of course, Bill Watterson will always be The Man, even in post-Calvin and Hobbes exile.

I just finished watching the movie "L'Eclisse," which is gorgeously shot and really unnerving -- Antonioni is now officially one of my favorite directors. All that malaise and spiritual isolation makes a good case against ever getting rich.
