Phrasal verbs with "out"

Всем привет!
Начнем с правильных ответов на упражнение из прошлого урока:
  1. End up, 2. Come up against, 3. Come up to, 4. Add up, 5. Come up with, 6. Follow up, 7. Drew up, 8.  bargained for (сорри, даже не знаю как этот фразовый глагол тут оказался, эту часть предложения мне не нужно было переписывать, так как я не давала этот глагол) Ended up, 9. Faced up to,  10. Ended up, 11. Came up with
Только Михаил сделал это задание. Михаил, well-done!!! :-)
В этот раз дам только фразовые глаголы, а упражнение давать не буду, так как судя по-всему, их все равно почти никто делать не собирается.






Phrasal verbs with “out”

Fall out (with) - quarrel (with)

Charles and Emily have fallen out again

Pass out - to lose consciousness




Work out - calculate

The hotel bill worked out at over £500.

Give out - be exhausted

When our money gave out we had to borrow some.

Wear out - make tired

This work has worn me out

Carry out - complete a plan

The attack was successfully carried out.

Run out of - have no more of something

Get out of - avoid responsibility

Find out - learn about, discover

Leave out - not include

I always leave out difficult exercises




Come out - 1. be published; 2. appear

All the flowers have come out.

My photos didn’t come out very well.

Her new book came out last week

Look out - be aware

Look out! There’s a car coming!

Bear out - confirm the truth

Helen’s alibi was borne out by her sister.

Make out - 1. pretend

Tim made out that he hadn’t seen the No Smoking sign.

2. manage to see or understand

I couldn’t quite make out what the notice said.

Miss out - 1. fail to include

You have missed out a word here.

2. lose a chance - colloquial

Five people got promoted, but I missed out again.

Point out - draw attention to a fact

I pointed out that I would be on holiday anyway.

Sort out /figure out - find a solution
