I have been insanely optimistic lately. Even through the tons and tons of (extraordinarily boring) reading, I have kept a smile on my face and cheered people through their homicidal phases. I'm organized and have time to spare, and can do what I want when I want, and I have my own little space, and Im just genuinely happy with my place in life ( Read more... )

so if you don't want to hear people who disagree with you, then you obviously don't listen to them. so why listen to bush? is he running your life? no, not really. :D

well, considering that Bush is the President, and if a bill gets to him banning same-sex marriages, and he passes it, yes, hes "running" a part of my life that he has no right to mess with.
and i only dont want to hear people who berate me for my choices in life. people who choose to calmly, rationally, *maturely* state their opinions here, fine. ill certainly listen, and honor their opinions. i included the disclaimer because on journals, people tend to be of the 'YELLING AT THE SINNER IN ALL CAPS TO TELL THEM THAT THEY WILL EVENTUALLY RESIDE IN HELL' sort. ...which no sane person would listen to.

well, i'm not the kind of person to talk crap about your choices in life because your life is certainly not any of my business and never will be, so i don't really honestly care what exactly your choices are. therefore i won't say anything mean about it. i'm just sick of people complaining about the actual legality of same-sex marriages. if i never married my mate i would still have the same love and affection and greatness out of it as i would if i was married to them. being married should not affect the relationship at all.
that's about all i have to say about that.

of course it doesn't affect the relationship. however, it does affect other things more governmentally attached, such as adoption, who gets the child/house/money if one partener dies, hospital room visiting right, etc., which i do care about.
thanks for being calm, rational, and mature! :) i really appreciate it.

Do you have any suggestions on what kind of postcard to send? I have Buffy and Sanrio, but how seriously would they take the statement with a Slayer or happy face shining back at them? Hah, moving on...Ironically I found your journal in Jon's and thought to take this opportunity to let you know I would be supporting same-sex marriage, and simply say hello. Have a good day. ^_^
