Music Meme Day 4 & 5: Your Favorite Male/Female Singer

Oh look at that...I already missed a day. It's ok, because these two questions go together so well. I don't really understand the people who object to being asked to pick a favorite. Even if I don't consciously call something my favorite, I always seem to have one choice that I clearly like more than everything else in that category. Are all

For me, it's not about objecting to the concept of having favourites. It's that I don't think that way; I don't have one thing I always choose above others. For me, it would be a 'favourite of the week' or 'favourite of the day'. Like, if people ask me my favourite food, right now I'd probably answer hummus, or maybe kale, because that's what I've been craving lately. But weeks ago I might have said pizza, or pad thai. :)

That's basically how I feel about it. "Favorite" is a transitory term for me that usually doesn't last more than about five minutes at a time. And when it comes to music, it's about twenty times harder than anything else, because I love so many kinds of music.

I guess my brain works totally differently. While I like many things and the thing I'm eating or watching or listening to most at this time varies, I have no problem looking at my life as a whole and seeing that there are things I've liked for a long time and keep coming back to. Which is what makes them favorites, in my opinion. But I don't mind if other people interpret it as "favorite at this moment", I just find it a little silly to start a meme asking for favorites and then say you don't have a favorite.
