I watch the Prince of Tennis Musicals ("TeniMyu") and listen to the soundtracks, and I know that there's no accounting for my utter lack of taste in music and my choice of entertainment. And my ears have bled and myne eyes have wept from the disasters inflicted upon them-- who, I ask, would willingly descend to the Eighteen Levels of Hell and have their ears mauled with off-key, out-of-tune, and sometimes very bizarre singing?
Answer: TeniMyu fans.
And now, finally--
*dying of laughter* They actually found boys who could sing! My ears wept for joy! Myne eyes too, but really--
Dear People-In-Charge-of-Casting,
Thank you for finding the perfect Hyoutei.
Thank you for Atobe, who can sing and proves that Atobe Keigo can look like that in real life.
Thank you for Gakuto, who dances and turns cartwheels like a real life Gakuto.
Thank you for Oshitari, who can sing, and ... who can't dance, but still looks cool.
Thank you for Shishido, and Jiroh, and Kabaji, and Hiyoshi. Who can all sing,
Thank you for giving Seigaku singing lessons and teaching them how to blend. Did you know how wonderful it is to have TWO CAPTAINS who can sing? Atobe and Tezuka? --I recall the debacle of Yoh and TakiEiji. NOT GONNA GO NEAR THAT EVER AGAIN.
This is the best TeniMyu I have ever seen, although I hated the long boring parts where everbody played tennis and nobody sang or danced and I couldn't understand a word.
Anyway, I have to say that this is the first TeniMyu that has parts that I have watched more than once since the old cast was retired.
And I never once dreamed I'd be cheering on Hyoutei and warbling "Makeru no Seigaku!"
I'm a Seigaku fan.
But it seems I'm now a turncoat.
Yours truly,
Alse
