Yamada didn't know when it started, really. He was just being his usual self, performing his best (especially now that he had a new solo) and just being with Yuto all the time. But these days, Yuto has been (practically) fawning over him and his face.
There was this one time where Yuto would just reach for his cheek and caress as if it's the most normal thing in the entire world. No words are said, but Yamada would usually wonder what in the world the younger boy was doing and why in the world is he doing it.
There were also times where Yuto would just yap all the time, saying how Yama-chan was so cool up on stage and how Yama-chan's face looked so serious when he was performing. Yamada didn't know what to do anymore. Sure, it would be a great compliment, especially coming from one of the popular JE boys in this generation.
But this is where he draws the line. Why? Well, Yuto does a lot of things without thinking and because he does things without thought, Yamada doesn't understand. Yamada doesn't want to not understand, he wants to know why Yuto does these things and he wants an educated explanation, please and thank you. No more unconcious caressing of cheeks just because he felt like it. Then again, it's not like the younger boy was going to listen to what he's going to say.
And then the July 2008 Popolo was released. Was that what Yuto thought? That his face was cute, and his skin so pale and smooth? Was there truly no other reason to it? Yamada sighed and closed the magazine, leaving it on the table. There was really no use to continuing this now. Next time he saw Yuto, he would have to tell him bluntly to stop because he didn't like it (the fact that he actually did like it made him not want to be touched more). All these thinking was making his head hurt, and he didn't need that right now with Bouken Rider performances for their Your Seed promotions. Definitely, this has to stop.
So on the set of another show that would only need them for fifteen minutes, he watched Yuto's every move. Not once did Yuto touch him, much less go near him. He was sure he didn't do anything (yet), and there was really no reason for him to not talk to the older boy. This disturbed Yamada to no end (and he completely ignored the fact that he was about to tell Yuto to stop touching him).
As soon as the recording ended and they were able to sing their respective parts during the performance, the entire HEY!SAY!JUMP walked back to their dressing room with drinking water. Yuto went ahead with Chinen, not even bothering to wait for Yamada. Even after getting dressed and going home, Yuto didn't talk to him. And here, Yamada decided, he will draw another line.
"Yuto!" He called out soon after he walked out of the studio. "I read your Popolo interview." He noticed Yuto stiffen and blush numerous colors of red. If it wasn't for the fact that he was pissed, Yamada would have found it interesting and cute.
"I never really understood why you wanted to keep on touching my cheeks. But after reading your interview, I finally have. Although it doesn't seem very promising." Yamada looked sideways towards Yuto and saw the younger boy blush even deeper possible shades of red. It made him look like a tomato, and it made Yamada wonder if all the blood cells in Yuto's body all went there.
"Uh... well... ah... you see... it's like this--" Yamada shot up and gave the taller boy a chaste kiss. Pulling back, he smiled.
Maybe next time I'm asked, I might as well say Yuto's face. Most especially his lips...
Notes: ...:| I'm supposed to be doing homework and studying right now. XD; But listening to Perfume over and over and the fact that we have no school tomorrow made me write this while I was reading the translation by
smalltownsburns. ROFL♥ I'm going through a huge HSJ phase right now, and it's been a long time since I've written something. D: Hopefully this does make some sense at the least, and that I haven't really lost my touch. :|
Constructive criticisim is great. ;)
