BACKGROUND: Buttercup was born in 1996 in the city of Townsville, Indiana. She has an older sister, Blossom, and a younger sister, Bubbles. They're all a year apart in age. Blossom is a perfect daughter. She's smart and pretty and great at school. Bubbles is the baby. She's cute and acts much younger than twelve.
Buttercup is the leftovers.
Her father, Professor Utonium (who insists his daughters call him "the Professor"), is an absentminded scientist who never seems to get his inventions off the ground. He's brilliant, really, but he's just too scatter-brained and out of touch to really get anything done. He has resigned from laboratory work to teach at a nearby university in order to keep food on the table and to give the girls a relatively comfortable middle class lifestyle. The girls' mother died when Bubbles was a year old, so they never really knew her.
Life was boring and normal for the most part, aside from the relatively high crime rate in Townsville. Buttercup had just started the 8th grade at Pokey Oaks Middle School. Just like she had in previous years, she was getting into fights. With boys, with girls, over anything. After one particular fight that got her suspended, she took her rage out on the family's SUV. She expected to leave a dent. Instead, she demolished the whole front of the car.
When the Professor found out, he was desperate to protect his daughter from anti-mutant feelings, so he had her enrolled at Xavier's.
PERSONALITY: Tomboy. That is the one word most people use to describe Buttercup. She almost never played with girls aside from her own sisters growing up, and even now still prefers the company of boys. She is disgusted by makeup. Her stomach turns at the thought of dresses. She runs with the boys, alright. Her favorite hobby? Football. Before she was suspended from her school, she was going to be the first girl to try out for the team.
She also has a massive temper and a bit of a mean streak. Even if she isn't mad, she won't say no to a fight. That's just the adrenaline junkie in her. If she is mad, though, she doesn't pull punches and is the first to go to blows. She also seems to have a strange moral code for herself. She'll tease people, her sister especially, and the next second stand up for someone who's getting bullied. In a way, she's fairly confused and just plain volatile. This comes from the fact that she feels ignored as the middle daughter, and that she's jealous of Bubbles and Blossom's popularity and talents.
Don't tell anyone, but she also has a soft side, too. Her favorite thing in the world is her blankie, which she still keeps to sleep with.
APPEARANCE: Buttercup's appearance matches very much up with her attitude. Despite being short, at only 5'1", she still manages to look menacing with her perpetual frown and roughly cut black bob. She has pale skin and light green eyes that border on a neon green.
Clothes for her mostly consist of a t-shirt or long sleeved shirt, black biker shorts, sneakers, an oversized coat, and a beanie. Any combination of these will do. Preferably, they're green.
POWERS: Baseline comic book superhero set of powers here. She can fly, has super-strength, limited invulnerability, and a somewhat accelerated healing factor.
